Alana-Peterson

Alana’s Tlingit name is Gah Kith Tin, she is L’uknax.ádi, Raven/Coho from Diginaa Hít- The House on the Ocean; granddaughter of Kin Toow, Cecilia Kunz; a child of the Wooshkeetaanyádi, Eagle/Shark clan. She grew up in Sitka, a small island community in Southeast Alaska.

Professionally, Alana earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Charleston Southern University. After graduating from college she joined the Peace Corps where she served as a Small Business Development volunteer for two years on the southern coast of Peru. She obtained her Master’s degree in Business Administration from Northern Arizona University. Alana continues to work in economic development previously with Central Council Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska, and currently in her role as Program Director for Haa Aaní, LLC.

Alana lives in Sitka with her husband and two daughters where she enjoys the outdoors, and running a small coffee shop.
