Fisheries Access Survey in Southeast

Your feedback is crucial in informing the Alaska Sustainable Fisheries Trust’s efforts to promote sustainable fishing practices and equitable access to Southeast Alaska’s rich marine resources. With funding from the Southeast Alaska Sustainability Strategy (SASS) initiative, we are conducting this survey to understand local participation and identify any barriers hindering community engagement in fisheries. We welcome all perspectives on subsistence, commercial, and recreational fishing. Thank you for helping us work to create a more inclusive and resilient fishing industry in Southeast Alaska.

  1. What will the survey be used for?
    Answers will be used in the ASFT report and help inform future research and efforts surrounding fisheries access in Southeast. The results will be shared back to participants and communities for their information and planning purposes.
  2. What is the process?
    Interviews will be synthesized to identify common themes that inform barriers to fisheries access as well as opportunities to improve access in Southeast Alaska.
