SSP Storytelling & Engagement Internship

The Sustainable Southeast Partnership (SSP) is a dynamic collective uniting diverse skills and perspectives to strengthen cultural, ecological, and economic resilience across Southeast Alaska. The intern will work with the SSP to develop and contribute to existing storytelling, outreach, and engagement strategies. The specific projects will be co-developed based on the skills, interests, and proficiencies of the intern but could include using photography, writing, graphic design, video, or other tools to share the impact of our programs in the following areas: 

  • Land and Water Stewardship 
  • Cultural Vitality 
  • Food Sovereignty 
  • Localized Economy building 
  • Energy Independence  

The intern will work with a dynamic team of creatives to develop materials for social media, our e-newsletters, and website. Focus creative projects can be developed dependent on intern’s skills and interest including for print including in our monthly column with the Juneau Empire, through film, graphic design, art, photography, our annual magazine etc. The overarching goals of the internship are to strengthen SSP’s communications, outreach, social media, and storytelling programs while providing learning opportunities and professional development to the intern.
